When a storm rolls through Spring, Klein or north Houston, somebody should knock on the doors of the people who cannot get to the store or move a fallen branch. That is what our volunteers do: check on residents, hand over storm-safety information and point them toward help. It costs you a Saturday morning.
The part of a storm nobody schedules
Insurance and contractors get around to the roofs eventually. What no adjuster puts on a calendar is the yard covered in shingles, the widow who cannot lift a limb off her fence, or the family that needed a tarp yesterday. That gap is where volunteers earn their keep, and it is where ours go.
Community door-to-door check-ins
Once the weather clears, volunteers may walk affected Houston-area streets to see how residents are doing, leave storm-safety information and explain where a homeowner can ask for assistance.
Supply drives
Water, tarps, batteries and school supplies gathered at our events and delivered to the block that actually needs them, not to a warehouse.
Nominate a neighbor
Know a veteran, senior or single parent whose roof is in bad shape? Say so. We read every nomination ourselves and go look at the roof for free.

Safety first, and it is not negotiable: no volunteer ever climbs a ladder or sets foot on a roof — that work belongs to our insured crews alone. Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian on site, and every volunteer signs a standard liability release on the day.
What a check-in is — and is not: a volunteer knocks, asks how you are doing and leaves storm-safety information. Nothing is being sold, nobody is asked to buy anything, and saying you are fine and closing the door is a perfectly normal answer. Volunteering is one lane. If your calendar is full, one of these usually still works.

Volunteer questions
Do I need any construction experience?
None at all. This is knocking on a door, asking how someone is holding up, handing over a storm-safety flyer, carrying a box, translating — not roofing. If you can hold a clipboard and be decent to a stranger, you are qualified.
Will I be asked to go on a roof?
No — never. Roof work is done only by our insured crews, and that is the one rule with no exceptions.
Can my company, church or team volunteer together?
Yes, and groups are actually the easiest to schedule. Tell us the size and we will pair you with a project that genuinely needs that many hands.
Can students earn service hours?
Yes — bring whatever form your school uses and we will sign it. Anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian present.
How do I nominate a neighbor who needs help?
Describe the situation in the form above, or call. Every nomination gets a look from us and a free roof inspection — with no obligation on the homeowner either way.
Is this a way to sell me a roof?
No. Check-in volunteers are not on commission and are not there to quote you. Nothing is for sale, no purchase is required, and you are free to say you are fine and close the door. If you would like your roof looked at, we will gladly book a free inspection for another day.
