Atlas Class 4 Shingles for Houston Hail Country

Impact-rated StormMaster in a shake or a slate look, plus algae-resistant Pinnacle Pristine for the humid side of Houston weather.

If your street in Cypress or Katy has been through a hail claim once, you already know it can happen again. That is the moment Atlas enters the conversation. The StormMaster family is Class 4 impact-rated as a family, not as one upgrade sitting at the top of the catalog, which means you can choose an impact-rated roof and still choose the wood-shake or slate look you wanted. Storm Bolt documents the hail history on your roof during the inspection so this decision starts from evidence rather than a sales pitch.

Atlas alone controls its product availability and warranty terms, and both change. Storm Bolt Roofing holds no manufacturer certification and no exclusive tie to Atlas; the exact line, color and written warranty for your job are confirmed in your proposal before any work begins.

Why this brand

Why Atlas Comes Up After a Houston Hailstorm

Class 4 Without a Compromise

Impact-rated in both a shake and a slate profile, so choosing hail resistance never forces a roofline you dislike.

Built for Humid Air

Gulf humidity leaves black streaks on Houston roofs. The Scotchgard-protected lines are designed to resist that particular staining.

A Talk With Your Insurer

Some Texas carriers rate impact-rated roofs differently. Ask yours what it would mean, and we quote Class 4 and standard side by side.

Confirm

Sample boards against your brick in daylight, and any HOA color rule checked before the order is placed.

Install

FAQ

Class 4 Questions From Houston Homeowners

Will an impact-rated Atlas roof lower my insurance premium?

Sometimes, and it depends entirely on your carrier and your policy. Storm Bolt cannot promise a discount and will not. Call your agent, ask what an impact-resistant roof does to your premium, and bring us that answer. We price both options either way.

Does Class 4 mean the roof cannot be damaged by hail?

No. Class 4 is a laboratory impact rating, not a guarantee. The shingle resists impact better than a standard one; severe hail can still damage it.

What is the point of the Scotchgard-protected line?

Those black streaks on Houston roofs are algae, not dirt. The protected lines are made to slow that growth. It is a cosmetic benefit, but a real one in this climate.
